When you start writing it! Marketing is a process and depending on what you are starting with (email list, following, engaged readers, etc.) that process can take a while. During the time that you are writing, editing, and publishing your book, you need to build and grow your audience. I can work with you to make sure that happens and that you aren't too exhausted to write!
Absolutely! You always want to be bringing new readers into your fold. Growing your audience is a never-ending process, but I work to make sure that the process isn't difficult and that you have strategies and tactics that work for you.
You and I will discuss in-depth your book genre, then identify who your readers are and where they hang out, online & off. Don't expect to only do social media marketing - you will want to physically go to where your readers are and I will identify those places and create your actionable plan.
The 12-month plan is for the proactive writer who understands that marketing is necessary, but isn't sure how to start, or fit it into their schedule.
The 6-month plan is great for someone who wants to launch or re-launch a book. The best time to start would be at least six months prior to the expected release date.
The 3-month plan is perfect for picking one or two marketing focuses and developing and executing tactics that increase audience growth and exposure.
However, I meet you where you are. You can select the plan that works best for your time and budget. The earlier we start the marketing process, the better!
I had a marketing professor who once said "the answer to everything in marketing is 'it depends.'" And he's not wrong!
Every client is different and various factors affect that, including but not limited to, how skilled you are at marketing, where in the writing process did you engage my services, what does your current audience look like, is this your first book or your fourth, what genre is your book, etc.
Once we meet and I assess that, I will be able to give you an action plan and that will determine the amount of time you spend.
